Thursday thoughts, the day before D-Day..

So I did pretty well with my eating yesterday, although last night was a bit crazy. My boyfriend was kept working late at the festival (as I had feared) so when I got the word from him that our date/food out was not going to happen and that he was eating in the crew tent on site, I started whipping myself up the sexy blue cheese and mushroom omelette I had been dreaming about all day (I was pretty ravenous by this time, it being nearly 8pm).  Just as I dished it up with a lovely fresh salad with beetroot and a few new potatoes, he text me again to say “I’m coming home!  We can go out!”  Heart-breaking as it was, I covered my delicious meal, wiped the dribble from my face and ran to put a dress on.  He is going away for 3 weeks tomorrow, so I really really wanted to spend some time with him before he goes.  We’ve never been apart more than 3 nights!

So we got to a cute little rustic bar in town called The Mess Canteen which does great veggie things (halloumi burgers, goats cheese and blueberry salad, gorgonzola, avocado and walnut salad – I couldn’t wait!) but when we arrived we were instantly warned apologetically that the kitchen had just closed, due to everything being sold out after a really busy day.  Fair play – they order everything in fresh every day.  I ordered some red wine instead (no worry for S, he’d already eaten!) which went straight to my head, the hunger faded and we had a lovely hour catching up.

I ate the omelette when I got home and it was bloody delicious.  So my food yesterday was as planned, but in addition I had 2 glasses of red wine (oops), a cereal bar and 3 crackers.  Total calories 1300.  S leaves tomorrow. I’m nervous about it but quietly hopeful that if I keep my eating habits good, everything else will fall into place.  I just had a huge healthy food shop delivered, so lets bring on lots of lovely healthy foods and the odd treat to stop me bingeing.  It is the answer!  Here is my treat for one night – a Portuguese tart (aka Pastel Da Nata) – naughty but so beautiful.  P.S Only one is for me!   2
